Bellua Cyber Security Asia 2005 - The Workshops,

John Ellingson
The Reality of Identity Theft

Date:22nd March 2005 8:30AM
Length: 1 Day
Venue: Hotel Borobudur, Jakarta - Indonesia.
Cost: US$600 including refreshments, lunch, materials and certificate of completion.
Introduction:
This workshop views the current identity crisis and decreasing personal privacy and attempts to identify the root causes and suggests a pathway to a solution. Despite growing technology and awareness, identity crimes are growing asymptotically as is the erosion of privacy.
The current trend of increase in ID crime indicates that in seven to ten years every ID in every system will be stolen and will be in common use by both the legitimate holder and one or more criminals. This should be of concern to those with long range planning responsibitlies -- including budgeting. You can't use 1950's logic to drive 21st century ID systems anymore.
Who Should Attend:
CIOs, CTOs, system designer, risk managers, bank and insurance managers, security officers, government employees with ID security responsibility...immigration, airport security and anyone with bottom line responsibility.
Role Playing as Bankers, Customers, Thieves and Employees
The workshop will begin by a Secret identity swap, in which selected participants secretly swap identities with others and participate in the group discussions as secret identity thieves. If possible, these participants should be selected before the event.
